West Pennant Hills · The Hills Shire

Bathroom renovations in West Pennant Hills.

90.8% of the suburb is separate houses — the highest share anywhere we work. That usually means a main bathroom with room for both a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath, and no owners corporation to ask first.

Renovated bathroom in West Pennant Hills with a floor-to-ceiling patterned feature wall, freestanding bath, twin basins and charcoal stone-look floor tiles

The room

One wall of pattern, everything else quiet

A patterned feature wall runs floor to ceiling behind a single frameless glass panel, so the shower reads as part of the room rather than a box bolted into the corner. Large-format marble-look walls and charcoal stone-look floors stay deliberately plain, which lets the tile carry the colour on its own.

  • Double vanity
  • Separate WC

Shower

Rain head and handheld on one rail

A single frameless panel instead of a framed enclosure, so there is one silicone joint to keep clean rather than four. The niche is set into the pattern and tiled to match, and the heated towel ladder sits within reach of the opening rather than across the room.

Vanity

Two basins, and a curved end that stops the bruises

Custom fluted timber with a stone top and twin vessel basins, so two people can get ready without taking turns. The end is curved rather than square because it sits on the walking line between the door and the shower.

Separate WC

The toilet stays walled off

The separate toilet was already there and it was worth keeping. It is the single feature that decides whether a family bathroom still works at eight in the morning, and giving up the compartment to gain a little floor space is usually a trade people regret.

Tapware

One finish, used everywhere

Brushed nickel on the mixers, the shower rail, the towel ladder and the bath spout. Mixing finishes is the quickest way to make a new bathroom look assembled from whatever was on sale, so we pick one and hold it through every fitting in the room.

  • Brushed nickel throughout
  • Wall-mounted bath spout
  • Matched shower rail

What went into it

The detail behind the finish.

Large-format marble-look wall tiles and charcoal stone-look floors. A patterned feature tile floor to ceiling with a recessed niche tiled to match. Freestanding bath with a wall-mounted spout and a niche above it. Custom fluted double vanity with twin basins and round timber-framed mirrors. Heated towel ladder, three-in-one heat, light and exhaust unit, plantation shutters to the window, and a separate WC with a smart bidet seat.

Stripped back to the frame

Full strip-out, then new substrate. Tiling over what is already there hides the problem rather than fixing it.

Waterproofed to AS 3740

Certified on completion, and covered by a seven-year warranty written into your contract rather than promised at the door.

West Pennant Hills questions

Before you start.

Do you take on bathroom renovations in West Pennant Hills?

Regularly. West Pennant Hills (2125) sits in The Hills Shire, and our showroom at 104 George St, Hornsby is about ten minutes away — which makes site visits, deliveries and fixing anything that needs attention straightforward.

Do I need council approval to renovate my bathroom?

Usually not. An internal bathroom renovation that does not change the building's structure, external appearance or room layout generally falls under exempt development in NSW. If you are moving walls, changing windows or altering drainage, that can change. We will tell you where you stand before you commit, and you can confirm with The Hills Shire Council for your address.

How long will my bathroom be out of action?

It depends on the layout changes, waterproofing cure times and how quickly your chosen fixtures arrive. Rather than quote you an average, we give you a written start and finish date with your quote, and we work to it.

Do you supply the tiles, tapware and vanity, or do I?

We supply everything as part of the build, and you choose it with us at the Hornsby showroom where you can see materials at full size. If you have already found something you love elsewhere, we will work it in.

What warranty do I get?

A seven-year waterproofing warranty written into your contract, on top of the statutory warranties that come with a licensed NSW builder. Our licence number is 397801C.
