What dryer should I put in an apartment laundry?
A heat pump or condenser model. A conventional vented dryer needs a duct to outside air, and in a unit that means a penetration through common property which the owners corporation will usually refuse. Heat pump machines vent nothing, use markedly less power, and take longer per cycle — that trade-off is the whole decision.
Does a laundry need waterproofing?
Yes. A laundry is a wet area, and in an apartment with someone living below it matters as much as a bathroom does. We waterproof to the required standard and provide certification on completion, whether the job is a full room or a 900mm cupboard.
Can you fit a sink into a European laundry?
Often, if the machines are stacked. Stacking frees the lower half of a standard 900mm cupboard, which is enough for a compact trough and a small amount of storage. Side by side almost never leaves room. It is worth deciding this before you buy the appliances.
Do I need owners corporation approval for a laundry?
Generally yes if waterproofing or floor penetrations are involved, which they usually are. It is a smaller scope than a bathroom but the same process applies. We provide the written scope for the application, and it is often approved faster because there is less to assess.
